Shop Closing

Many of you have already heard the news…YES, the shop is closing. A year ago, I moved the store to a new location and cut the shop hours. My hope was that I could lighten the load and have more free time. It sounded like a good plan at the time, but shortened hours did not lead to less work. As you may know, for almost 10 years, I have worked at a full-time job outside of the shop, while trying to maintain the store. In addition to raising 3 children, two labs, etc. I have come to a place in my life, where something has to give. I can’t give up my full-time job, not only do I love it, but it pays the bills. And I won’t give up my family! That leaves the shop. I did not come to this decision easily, joyfully or lightly, but I know it is the right one. Over the past 10 years I have made lasting friendships, that I will continue to treasure. I have enjoyed and appreciated the customers who have visited our shop & booth at Road. And I will miss the fun I have had with the staff (aka my friends) at the shop, who over the years, have made it possible for me to continue to work full-time and still provide a great shop for everyone! They have been amazing!

There is still good news! We will still be hosting retreats, two times a year. Retreats are probably one of things I love most- so these will continue! We will still have a booth at Road to California (come see us there), we will have special events periodically, and best of all – I will have time to get the website up and running, so you can still shop for the original kits that we are known for creating.

I anticipate that there will be many questions. I am going to try and answer some right now, but I am sure there will be more.

WHEN ARE WE CLOSING? – Our last day will be Saturday, February 27th. We will be closed on Saturday, February 20th – due to the complete 91 freeway closure  (15 to 71)that weekend.

WHAT IF I HAVE A BLOCK OF THE MONTH I HAVEN’T FINISHED PICKING UP?  – The following blocks of the month are ready for final pick-up: America the Beautiful, Seasons of Baskets, Quilty Barn (you can pick up the remaining blocks, or leave a credit card number and address and we will mail out the rest of the blocks monthly, until finished). Saturday Sampler Finishing Kits – These will be available February 25, 26 & 27th (I know these have been a long time coming – IF they are ready sooner, I will post an update)

WHAT IF I AM IN WOOL CLUB OR STITCHING SOCIETY? We will still meet this Thursday for wool club. We should have an update then on how the rest of the months will be handled. I will post an update for both wool club and stitching society Thursday evening.

HOW WILL I PAY FOR MY RETREAT BALANCE? WHAT ABOUT KITS? – Don’t worry – I have your phone numbers & I will be contacting you for the balance. We have ordered fabric for the kits and will be working on them in March. There will not be any pre-cutting – can you say “Summer”!

WHAT WILL BE THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT YOU AFTER THE STORE CLOSES? – I will post a phone number and email before our last day.

IS THERE A BIG SALE? – We have some kits that have been reduced to 40% off and a great sale on Valdani ($3.00 per ball). The rest of our kits will be sold online, where we will have a bigger pool of customers to draw from.

HOW WILL WE STILL BE ABLE TO ENJOY YOUR AWESOME PERSONALITY & SEE YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE? – O.K., wishful thinking. No one will probably ask this question. 😦
